|LASER GLASS MELTING SYSTEM|
The system is designed for melting of Nd3+, Er3+ etc. doped laser glasses in Pt crucibles having volume of 1,3 and 5 litres. Induction heating is made by SChG tyristor (transistor) generators (10 (44) kHz). Maximum glass melting temperature is 1500oC. System of water removal from glass melt enables preparation of glasses with low OH-groups content (under 10 ppm).
Composition of glasses doped with neodymium (GLS-26 and LGS-T) and erbium (LGS-KhM, LGS-DE, LGS-KhCh) ions which were developed in IRE RAS are proposed. Technological documentation includes batch charge preparation, technological chart of melting process, glass pouring and annealing.
The system in combination with original glass melting technology enables preparation of laser glasses having high optical uniformity, low nonactive absorption losses and high damage threshold. It gives possibility to save starting materials and is adjusted ideally to application in scientific research institutes and companies having small-scale production. The system is simple and reliable in exploitation, occupies small area and does not require specific adjustment of working place. More than 35 years of authors experience in the field of laser materials guarantee high level of production proposed.
